We’re excited. For two years, we’ve been digital academics. We started online, we’ve built our communities online and we’ve developed our work online. Now, we’re moving into the real world. We want to build a community in Birmingham (UK) of people who really care about disability awareness and want to do some creative work to tell people about disability issues.
It’s time to get personal. Our work has always been global but we need to focus on working with people, in person. In Birmingham, we’re really fortunate to have some great work going on across minority groups, particularly in intersectional work (like UNMUTED) and there’s a huge space for a disability group.
If you want to help form one, get in touch. We’re going to start arranging the meet-up this week for a Birmingham Disability Group.
